The artist creates fellow-villagers of his grandfather and grandmother from cardboard
Six years ago, an artist from New York, Warren King first visited the Chinese village, which his grandmother and grandfather left more than 50 years ago. He was so imbued with that he saw that he had created from the cardboard several sculptures of local residents in a natural size.
A Chinese girl, whose name is not called, got a job as a pedicaber at Lake Houhai, in Beijing, despite having previously studied in the US, Italy and the UK. The motives of the girl are unknown, but judging by the sunny smile on her face, which warms all passers-by, she does not complain of fate.
